Brisland carried out an upgrade of William Street as part of the Sydney Cross City Tunnel Project in 2005- 06 . The upgrade included the new streetscape of William Street and Park Street, from Elizabeth Street to Kings Cross in the centre of Sydney. The project includes the beautification of the total area by way of demolishing the original narrow footpaths and the realignment of the footpath, kerb line and road to create wider footpaths and together with new granite paving, landscape, smart light poles, street car spaces, new upgraded stormwater system, bus stops,etc it created a more efficient traffic lane and safer pedestrian configuration.
