Business Manager

Richard Brisland founded Brisland Pty Ltd in 1989 after having worked in Australia for Leighton Contractors from 1985 to 1988 and then Girvan Pty Ltd. In June, he was appointed Business Manager for Brisland Pty, as a member of the Kell & Rigby Group of Companies.

He obtained his Bachelor of Science (Building Construction) at Warwick University, Coventry, England and his Honours Degree from Manchester University before working in Wales, London and the Middle East.

His successful projects during his previous career included:-

$70 Million "Hi Tech" Forest Corporate Park, Frenchs Forest for A.G.L. including N.E.C. Head Quarters and Dow Chemicals Headquarters. A total of 7 Hi Tech office/warehouse buildings including a film theatre (Construction Management).

  • A.B.C. Radio Station Complex, Ultimo value $140 million. (Project Management & Design Management to PWC stage).
  • Team leader for Olympic Aquatic Centre competition, Homebush -$32 million. (D & C).
  • Multi storey office block for Macarthur Development Board Campbelltown. (D & C).
  • Team leader for Consultant and Construction Team for new Sydney Sports Ground - $50 million.(D & C).
  • Clean Rooms for Glaxo Pharmaceuticals.(Design & Construct).
  • Research Laboratories for Upjohn Pharmaceuticals. (Design & Construct).
  • Refurbishment of Marathon Oil H.Q. Central London. (D & C).
  • Central TV studios Birmingham
    Girls High School, Doha, Qatar, Middle East. (Value $35 million).

Previous Project Awards have included:

  • 1990 BOMA award for Dow Chemicals.
  • 1990 M.B.A. award for Building for Dow Chemicals.
  • 1981 R.A.F. Base Mareham Refurbishment and Modernisation opened by Queen Elizabeth II.
