Brisland Pty Limited became a member of Kell & Rigby Group on the 1st of June 2009. Kell & Rigby are now 100% shareholders in Brisland.
Kell & Rigby has been well positioned to acquire other quality building companies since entering into a strategic partnership with Mulpha Australia last year. The acquisition of the family-owned and run Brisland significantly enhances Kell & Rigby’s credentials in the government sector, as Brisland is in the top-ten of NSW Government ‘Best Practice’ accredited contractor scheme, has Federal Safety Commission accreditation of their OHS Management System to the Australian Government Building and Construction OHS Accreditation Scheme as well as holding numerous Management System accreditations including ISO 9001:2008 for Quality; AS/NZS 4801:2001 for Safety and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management .
Importantly, the culture and values of Brisland marry well with Kell & Rigby's. Both companies are founded on a strong belief in the innate strengths of family businesses. Both James Kell (CEO Kell & Rigby) and Richard Brisland (Business Manager, Brisland) see eye to eye on many important issues such as the ‘hidden’ quality in a building, the primacy of client interests and keeping the firm filled with great people.
Kell & Rigby have a unique corporate structure of separate, autonomous businesses, each focusing on a particular client sector. Within this structure the Brisland team will continue to focus on work on the Government and Public sector under the Kell & Rigby banner. They are part of Kell & Rigby as a specialised business and will still be known as ‘Brisland’.
This arrangement allows the opportunity for other Kell & Rigby businesses to work together in alliance with the Brisland business on projects to provide the client with the assurance on their projects of compliance to the Government standards of the management systems employed combined with Kell & Rigby’s 100 years of experience in the industry. |
