Gosford Hospital Mental Health Unit Stage 2 Enabling Works - Demolition, Excavation, New Ambulance Access, Plaza Carpark and Associated Works

Brisland was awarded the project by the Department of Health and commenced onsite in May 2008. The scope of works includes the reconfiguration of existing services at Gosford Hospital. The area of works is located between the Emergency Department, the multi-storey car park and Holden Street.The works are staged strategically to facilitate the continued operation of the current hospital departments and to minimise disturbances.

Stage 1 includes the demolition of existing building and diversion of services. As part of the provisions for access to the Gosford Emergency Department a covered pedestrian bridge will be constructed linking the multi storey car park to a current building structure.

Stage 2 will include bulk excavation of the site to nominated levels and the construction of a new ambulance access way, new road ways and new covered walkways.

Stage 3 will see the construction of new car parks and a new glass entry way to the Gosford Emergency Department.

These works will allow for the uninterrupted construction of the new Gosford Hospital Mental Health Unit.

The project is due for completion in January 2009.
