Walter Read and John Thompson Reserve Refurbishment
Refurbishment of the Walter Read Reserve at 255B Oxford Street Paddington involves the removal of the existing derelict service station equipment and remediation of the site, stabilisation and reconstruction of sections of the collapsed heritage reserve roof structure and provision of pedestrian and disabled access. A sunken garden and boardwalk will be created within the reservoir to integrate with the existing upgraded John Thompson Reserve at the corner of Oxford Street and Oatley Road. The works include extensive Heritage restoration to the existing reservoir structure, structural steel and metalwork and replacing the footpath areas to Oxford Street and Oatley Road.
The project commenced on site in July 2007 with completion due for January 2009.
