MBA “Merit Award for Excellence in Construction for Interior Fit Out up to $2 million”, GEMOC Research Laboratories, Macquarie University 2004

MBA "Merit Award for Excellence in Construction 2004 for Interior Fit Out up to $2 million" was awarded in November 2004 for the unique GEMOC Laboratories on the North Ryde Campus of Macquarie University. The project consisted of the first in the country for this type of laboratory installation to comply with the University needs.

Ducted Laminar Flow cabinets and Fume Cupboards were installed in the Clean Room Suites, some having positive or negative pressure, and the special services, mechanical supply and extraction plant were installed on a specially design roof mounted platform.

Maintenance work on the laboratories services was carried out without disturbing the experiments or users, via specially design walkways in the ceiling voids.
